And that fun certainly encompasses a lot. WinterFest presents a full lineup of live holiday entertainment, for one thing, including concerts by The MistleTones, the Kris Kringles, and Cool Yule Christmas as well as the It’s Christmas, Snoopy! ice show and A Peanuts Guide to Christmas.
WinterFest dazzles the eye and the spirit, too, with its charming holiday-scape. The specially decked-out environs include Candy Cane Lane and Snow Flake Lake, which hosts ice skating against the remarkable backdrop of the double-decker Carousel Columbia. (That’s the tallest carousel on the globe, mind you, and one of the iconic centerpieces of California’s Great America.)
There are also plenty of seasonally appropriate activities to be enjoyed at WinterFest: Kids can write letters to Santa Claus (and nab photos with the big red-suited guy himself) and roll up their sleeves for a some good old-fashioned cookie-decorating with Mrs. Claus.
From holiday eats and drinks (including hot chocolate and hot cider) to shopping in Artisan Alley, there’s much else to enjoy at WinterFest—and that’s not even speaking of the California’s Great America rides, from Berserker, RailBlazer, and Gold Strike to the Pumpkin Patch and Lucy’s Crabbie Cabbies, that are spinning, plunging, and twirling away during the festivities.
